In 1780, Abigail Adams wrote a letter to her son John Adams, who was traveling with her husband. She wrote this letter, using several rhetorical devices, to tell him not to the opportunities he was given lightly, to make the best of them for him. Adam uses rhetorics such as allusions, tone, and lists to really stress the importance of applying himself.
