I read the article, "Why have I lost control?" by Cory Booker. This article was republished from May 6, 1992. This article was republished in the Stanford Daily on January 23, 2013, and it is a primary source because Cory Booker is voicing his opinion on racism.
In "Why have I lost control?" Cory Booker, now the mayor of Newark, New Jersey voices his opinion on the controversial verdict of the Rodney King case. Rodney King was a black man who was beaten by the Los Angeles Police Department. The LAPD members who beat Rodney King were sentenced not guilty, so Corey Booker voiced his opinion and his background of racial profiling he has been apart of. Corey Booker wrote this article to inform and persuade the readers to know what it is like from his experience of being racially profiled, and that it really does happen.
I think this article was relative then, and is still somewhat relative now. I don\'t believe that the racism is right, but it seems people take some things too far. I am not agreeing with the members with the LAPD who beat Rodney King, but people seem to forget the fact Rodney King\'s alcohol level was twice above the limit and caused a high speed chase. I do agree with Corey Booker in 1992, but now in 2015 I believe we have evolved and people want to believe it is still prominent when it really has calmed down.
