MARVEL is an American entertainment company and is especially known for the famous comic books about superheroes.
THE COMICS
MARVEL Mystery Comics are some comic books MARVEL made from the late 30's to the late 40's. It's known as the 'Golden Age Of Comic Books'.
The Human Torch was actually the first comic book character MARVEL made, and along with Captain America and Namor the Sub-Mariner, the three of them was on top of Timely's most famous characters in the 'Golden Age of Comic Books'.
MARVEL is also known for making ‘The Fantastic Four’ and ‘Spider Man’, which later on in the ‘00s got real life on movies.
In nineteensixtyeight MARVEL was selling 50 million comic books a year but that still wasn’t enough to beat their opponent DC Comics who are known for making Superman and Batman.
THE MOVIES
The first movie MARVEL Studios created was ‘Blade; The Vampire Slayer’ and was released in ninetynine. The movie was a huge success. About two years later the first ‘Spiderman’ movie was released and in a year they earned close to a billion dollars.
Over the next five years MARVEL didn’t release any movies but in 2006 MARVEL started filming for their new movie which was ‘The Incredible Hulk’.
In the years after ‘The Incredible Hulk’ MARVEL made ‘Iron Man one and two’, ‘Thor’ and ‘Captain America’. The sequel to ‘Captain America’ is set to release in the start of 2014.
In 2012 MARVEL made their absolutely biggest movie so far. It included superheroes as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye. It was ‘The Avengers’, which was based on a comic book from the ‘60s.
In the year of 2013 MARVEL have released Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 and in 2014 they’re supposed to release, first Captain America 2 and then in the summer The Amazing Spiderman 2. In the summer of 2015 MARVEL will release a new ‘Fantastic Four’ movie who are supposed to be in the same universe as the ‘X-Men’ movies. In 2015 another ‘The Avengers’ movie will be released.
