How would creating a new position between the CEO and the location managers help the business to grow?
Creating a new position between CEO and the location managers would free up time that is spent on location dealing with the various questions and issues that come up. By delegating this to a new position Dalman will be able to spend time strategizing about the company's growth and future plans, time that would have otherwise been spent on location dealing with the manager's questions and issues that come up. By delegating this to a new position Dalman will be able to spend time strategizing about the company's growth and future plans, time that wo uld have otherwise spending time on location and dealing with mangers issues.
Is promoting an existing manager the best option to fill this position? If not, what is an alternative source to fill the position?
Promoting from within is a good way to boost morale and gives the opportunity for those who want to actually grow with the company a chance to do so. Though there are those managers who are actually content with where they are and are not seeking to move up from their current position. So it is important to determine if either of the existing managers is interested in taking on the additional responsibility.
3. Who within the company should make these decisions?
This decision should be made by Dalman and Lei for two reasons. The first one is that the Daily Operations Manager will report directly to Dalman and Lei. The second one is that this new person will take over the job duties currently being handled by Dalman and Lei. The new person will need to get an idea from them on how they have been handling the day to day operations and incorporate any ideas that he may have. When a job duty is delegated from one person to another, the person that is deleting the job and the perso n taking over the job must be in agreement on how it should be handled.
