Timed Writing - Science

Having a peaceful mind and a sense of tranquility is essential to living a good a healthy life. If you are engaging in an activity that comprises your tranquility Mary Shelley states that you should stop that activity. She states, "I do not think that the pursuit of knowledge is an exception to this rule." However, I disagree with her.

Knowledge is not always easily obtained. School isn\'t always fun and easy, but it is essential. If knowledge was easy everyone would be a genius. There is a slight sufferance to expanding what the mind can see and know.

On the other hand, I slightly agree with Shelley when she stated that, "if the study to which you apply yourself has a tendency to weaken your affections, and to destroy your taste for those simple pleasures in which no alloy can possibly mix, then that study is certainly unlawful." When something you\'re doing starts to affect the way you enjoy your other activities then I think it is time for you to put that project aside for a bit.

In the end, there is no gain without pain, but everything should be done in moderation. Happiness is essential to a good and healthy life.
